In 2007 I had the priviledge of being nominated by my husband for a show called Americas Favorite Mom. There were a couple hundred thousand entries and I ended up in the final 15. I got to be on the Today Show and a Mother's Day special with Donny & Marie.
During all the chaos, they sent producers out to our home to film a segment on our family to show during the Mother's Day special. They were here for several hours. One of the producers "Jim" ALSO worked on the Dr. Phil show.
Well guess who called last night????? One of the producers from the show who works for Jim. Jim follows me on Twitter and knows about our blog. After a LONG phone interview last night, I have been given the opportunity to "POSSIBLY" be on the Dr. Phil Show to talk about embryo adoption/donation.
PLEASE join me in praying that we make the right decision regarding being on the show. On one hand it is an EXCELLENT opportunity to raise awareness for embryo adoption/donation. On the other hand I'm scared to death.
Wow, that is so awesome! I hope that it all works out.
ReplyDeleteWow...You go girl and let the Lord use you in POWERFUL ways that we don't always understand.
ReplyDeleteWoo-Hoo!! What an opportunity. :))
How awesome is that!?!?! Praying that you are given this opportunity to spread the word about EA. Amazing!!!!
ReplyDeleteHow cool!!
ReplyDeletePraying for peace in your decision, should you have the opportunity.
But if you are on the show - you gotta let us know when it will air because we will all want to see it. :o)
Blessings!
That is awesome! I'm praying that you will have the opportunity to speak on Embryo Adoption.
ReplyDeleteWow, too cool! Way to go America's Favorite Mom!
ReplyDeleteExciting!
ReplyDeleteWow - How neat! I don't really care much about Dr. Phil, but that would be a great chance to spread the word about embryo adoption/donation!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, that is an amazing opportunity! I really think things like embryo adoption/donation, sperm & egg donation need to be talked about more. It is such a taboo topic and I think it would helps tons of women going through this infertility journey!
ReplyDeleteAWESOME!! I would be so in favor of you speaking about embryo adoption/donation! We have been so blessed by this process as you know. Can't wait to hear what happens!
ReplyDeleteMan, that is so cool. You should do it!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness!! That is awesome!! I'm hoping and praying it all works out!! Definitely keep us posted!!
ReplyDeleteI would be SO ABSOLUTELY THRILLED to have you be given the opportunity to talk about this!!! I really want for people to understand the great, big, gaping need out there. I waited 1-1/2 yrs for my "turn", and my fertility clinic has now officially closed their program to new recipients because they just don't have enough embyros. Yet thousands upon thousands of embryos sit, cryopreserved for yet another year. If there is ANYTHING I can do to support your interview/efforts here, just say the word!
ReplyDeleteSee! We all think it's a great opportunity! And that you should do it! :)
ReplyDeleteThat is SO cool and I think you should do it! Dr. Phil will be nice to you, I'm sure, and what an opportunity to introduce a concept to people who have no idea! If it happens, let us know what date the show will air!
ReplyDeleteSuper exciting possibility...I don't usually watch Dr. Phil, but I know that millions do, and what a chance to spread the word about LIFE and embryo adoption. That would be so amazing. Imagine how many people have probably never even heard of it or considered it that could be watching the show. God works in mysterious ways...
ReplyDeleteHey! Thanks for the comment! I have used both the hotslings and the peanut shell slings, and in my opinion, the peanut shell slings are better. HOWEVER, I am not really a huge fan of either. There was a picture of me "wearing" Anora in one in one of my babywearing pictures, but I much prefer the ring sling. It works well for ALL stages. It was the first carrier that I could nurse them in, and it is adjustable (which helps with post-baby body and with nursing because it needs to be a bit looser to nurse). If you were going to get just one carrier, hands down, I'd say get a ring sling.
ReplyDeleteMy pretty blue one is a Rockin Baby Ring Sling, and though they are pricey, it's totally worth it. I have a cheap (literally I got it used for $5) ring sling, and I liked it a lot until I got my Rockin Baby and found out what I was missing! Haha. I got my Rockin on sale for something like $60 (they are $100-110 new, not on sale). I have seen them on eBay too. Mine is reversible, as most of the Rockin are. There are a lot of brands out there though. So, look around. Check out DiaperSwappers FSOT forum to find a used one or for more recommendations.
HTH!

Wow- WOW!! That's awesome! Can't wait to hear what you decide.
ReplyDeleteHow scary and thrilling all at the same time. I would love to tell you I would do the show if it ws me, but I don't know 100% that I would have the emotional strength to do it. Someone definitely should though! Good for you for considering it. You will have a very large community behind you if it happnes! All the best to you!
ReplyDeleteWow! What an incredible opportunity! Praying that God will give you wisdom. :)
ReplyDeleteWow!!! That is such an exciting opportunity! Keep us in the loop with whatever happens, and praying the right decisions will be made by all!! EA/ED needs so much more publicity than it gets...
ReplyDeleteLove Dr. Phil!! I love the snowflake adoption route too! :)
ReplyDeleteGod bless you!!
