I just found out about embryo glue THIS MORNING and by GEORGE I will be asking my doctor some detailed questions about this before my upcoming FET. Another gal on a board I am a member of said her Dr. charged $200 for it. I WILL DO WHATEVER IT TAKES to help my baby embies survive! Heres a bit about it...
Dr. Andrew Weston, Follas embryologist and lab director, is pleased to offer our patients a new product to help increase the likelihood of embryo implantation. Embryo Glue, a protein solution manufactured by Vitrolife, closely resembles the environment in the uterus at the time of implantation. It is not glue in the true sense, but acts as a bridge between the embryo and the uterus. The hyaluronan in Embryo Glue improves the communication between the embryo and the uterine wall to minimize embryo drifting after transfer. Early studies indicate that Embryo Glue may improve the implantation rate up to 34%! Dr. McLaughlin may recommend this option to you to enhance the likelihood that you will conceive!
Any of you ever heard of or used this??

I did not use it and both implanted, as you know. I'm curious to hear what your doctor says- I think some doctors are all for it- others are against.
ReplyDeleteHugs!!!
I've never heard of this but I'm definitely interested to see what your doctor says.
ReplyDeleteI have heard it in passing, but knew nothing about it. You can be sure that I will mention it next week to my RE. It would be awesome if it was all that it claimed to be!
ReplyDeleteI heard about this today too...same post :) I am so curious about it and will be asking my Dr about this tomorrow when I see him. I will will let you know what my Dr says about it...thinking of you!!xox
ReplyDeleteI am actually the world's biggest skeptic. #1: how many scientific studies have been done on this product? #2: Is it FDA approved? #3: If you don't have implantation problems, why throw an extra monkey wrench into the mix? #4: The whole point of taking estrogen and then progesterone, and thawing the embies on a particular day precisely aligns the condition of the uterus with implantation timing - you want to mess with that? I don't know. I know we want to latch onto anything that offers hope, but I'd be cautious about tampering with the protocol your RE has worked out. Sorry to be a wet blanket. I'd love you to prove me wrong...I'll eat crow!
ReplyDeleteI am also a skeptic, but that is interesting. Hope you post what you find out!
ReplyDeleteMy Dr said it is an out-dated and not-likely-to-help anecdotal "fix-all" that actually could cause more ectopic pregnancies - he said not a lot of the "top" facilities in the US use Embryoglue. I have decided not to push my Dr on this and go down other avenues hoping for a miracle... good luck mommy!
